Sewing Bee #237 Dark Green - Small

A lovely little mixed media Sewing Bee created from a vintage wooden cotton reel, handmade honeycomb, needle and felt bee. 

I made this piece from a small vintage cotton reel, the original label is visible on the top. its a smaller size than a standard Sylko reel. The thread is a lovely warm rich green colour.

The little bee, I hand stitched with thread, felt and wire. The honeycomb is made from painted and varnished paper and filled with honey coloured resin. The piece is completed with a threaded sewing needle.

The piece measures 4.8cm high by 2.7cm wide.
