#027 British Ferns III
A really stunning mixed media piece created from a segment of a type case / wooden printmakers drawer.
This piece contains real speenwort fronds which have been pressed and painted gold. These have been set between five layers of resin. Bear in mind each layer needs two days to dry, these pieces take quite some time to make :)
The painting is created using the colour palette from the ferns used, it is my own design.
The other fronds are pressed and painted male fern fronds.
The resin creates depth and shadow and protects the delicate ferns.
This piece is signed on the back. It can be free standing or hung on the wall with the triangular brass fitting - this can be folded down if not being used.
The word 'London' is pressed in to the wood at the top of the frame. Please see images for details.
Dimensions: 20.5cm wide, 13cm high, 3.75cm deep.
UK posting is free, a tracked system is used.
All of the ferns used are taken from my garden.
