 #347 Secret Hive

This little Secret Hive is made inside a lovely Victorian papier-mache hinged box. The pot is decorated with daisies and butterflies. It has a lovely aged patina and wear commensurate with its age. I have polished it with museum grade protective wax. 

Hiding inside I have created a 'Secret Hive' with handmade paper honeycomb and three little bees which I have stitched from felt, thread and wire. The 'honey' is made from dyed resin. The quote reads 'Life is the flower for which love is the honey' by Victor Hugo.

This piece is signed and numbered on the back.

The pot when closed, measures: 7cm x 5.5cm and 3cm deep.
