#175 Secret Hive
This little Secret Hive is made inside a beautiful antique black laquered postage stamp storage box. It has lovely gold detailing on the lid with the word 'Timbres' - the french word for stamps. It's a really special little piece!
Hiding inside I have created a little secret hive with handmade paper honeycomb and three little bees which I have made from felt, thread and wire. The 'honey' is made from dyed resin. I've added three french stamps dated from around 1910.
The quote by Emily Dickinson reads:
'The pedigree of honey
Does not concern the bee:
A clover, any time, to him is aristocracy'
This piece is signed and numbered on the back. The little box when closed measures: 5.4cm x 9cm and is 2.6cm deep.
UK posting is free, a tracked system is used.
