Sewing Bee #178 Almond Green

A lovely mixed media Sewing Bee created from a vintage wooden cotton reel, handmade honeycomb, needle and felt bee.

I made this piece from a vintage wooden cotton reel, the original label is visible on the top. The thread is called Almond Green.

The little bee, I hand stitched with thread, felt and wire. The honeycomb is made from painted and varnished paper and filled with honey coloured resin. The piece is completed with a threaded sewing needle.

The piece measures 7cm high (including the needle)  by 4.5cm wide, its larger than a Sylko reel, as shown in the photo.
