A really stunning mixed media piece created from a segment of a type case / wooden printmakers drawer.

This piece contains a real fern frond, gold painted Spleenwort fronds and paintings set in several layers of resin.(Bearing in mind each layer needs two days to dry, these pieces take quite some time to make :)

The resin creates depth and shadow and protects the delicate ferns.

This piece is signed on the back. It can be free standing or hung on the wall with the triangular brass fitting - this can be folded down if not being used.

The words 'R SHELLHORN', 'LONDON' and 'FLEET ST' are pressed in to the wood at the top of the frame. Please see images for details.

Dimensions: 21.5cm wide, 12cm high, 4.5cm deep.

All of the ferns used are taken from my garden.
